snowbie, owned by lorna sutherland
of ellon, aberdeenshire, scotland, measured 103 cm. (40.8 in.) from his nose to the tip of his tail, on november 21, 1997, when he was four years old.
lorna sutherland has owned 98-lb. (44-kg.) snowbie and his sister, booboo, since they were kittens. when snowbie was about three months old, lorna had him sterilized and he just kept growing and growing. he now stands 33-cm. (13-in.) tall, and his tail alone measures 31 cm. (12 in.). this affectionate white cat certainly has a pampered lifestyle. lorna heats his bed at night with a warm towel! his favorite breakfast is a tin of tuna fish followed by either smoked ham or flaked turkey. his favorite drinks are low-fat, long-life cream, and coffee, which he likes in the morning and at bedtime he likes a bowl of rice pudding!
cat with the most toes
a five-year-old rescue cat named jake has clawed his way into the guinness world record book as the moggy with most toes. jake, an orange tabby from bonfield, ontario, canada, has seven toes - complete with claws and pads on each paw, and beats the previous record holder, mickey the tabby cat from deep river, new york, usa, who has 27 toes.
jake is owned by michelle and paul contant and their two children renee and kyle. "we got him from the north bay and district humane society," said michelle. "he's just a great cat. we knew he was special, so we had him examined." local vet dr t. d. bachelder, dvm, performed the check up and confirmed that jake has "complete and distinct toes with normal nails, foot pads and bone structure."
a black and white domestic long-haired cat named fluff, bought as kitten by neighbours of marjorie and ken wren, gosport, hampshire,uk, became the oldest living cat in 2003, when he reachedthe age of 31. fluff is half persian and her owner thinks her laid-back life style is the reason for her longevity.

in september 1996, two rare diamond-eyed cats, phet and ploy, were married in matching pink outfits at a ceremony in thailand's biggest discotheque. it cost phets owner, wichan jaratarcha, 410,979 thai bhat ($16,241).
the cost of the lavish wedding ceremony was topped up by a dowry of 587,127 thai bhat (US$23,202). it was attended by 500 guests, who gave the newlywed cats about 15,183,000 thai bhat (US$60,000) in cash and wedding presents. wearing pink satin, the bride, ploy, owned by a friend of phet's owner, arrived in a rolls royce, while phet himself came by helicopter. a parrot was best man, an iguana was maid of honor, and ploy even received a kitty wedding ring. although now married, the cats live apart, each with their respective owners. both cats have a rare optical defect known as diamond eye, a type of glaucoma, which in thailand is believed to be a symbol of good luck.

cato, a second-generation bengal cat, was bought for GB£25,000 (US$41,435) in february, 1998, by cindy jackson of london, england. the cat was sold by breeder lord C. esmond gay of bedfordshire, england.
cato is a second-generation bengal, meaning that he belongs to the bengal breed, a wildcat hybrid resulting from breeding a domestic cat with a wild asian leopard cat. the bengal is a large, sleek, and very muscular cat. it has a distinctive spotted or marbled coat, on a background color of either brown or white. bengals do not come cheap; they normally cost £600-2,500 (US$970-4,000), depending on the cats coat and pedigree. cato looks like a leopard, with a wild cat's face and large, jade-green eyes.
